The Seal Pup found in Eastern Canada has been under the political microscope for years now. The hunt that has gone on was and is still a world issue. One side defends the right to live for mammals and stand in defence of senseless slaughter by baseball bats of helpless infant creatures while the other side stands for the fight against the depleting fish stocks of the eastern coast and the right to increase income by the yearly slaughter by selling the coats of the young seal. I personally just wanted to depict the seal pup in it's natural environment in innocense. The image is 10 X 14 inches and was an edition of 450 prints.









Cypress Hills - Canada Geese

Cypress Hills - Canada Geese was painted after seeing a beautiful misty morning with seed puffs floating on the calm waters and mist rising in the background. Next fall when you see geese heading south for the winter, flying along in a "V" formation, you might be interested in knowing what science has discovered about why they fly that way. It has learned that as each bird flaps it's wings, it creates an uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in a "V" formation, the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on it's own. Whenever a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to do it alone, and quickly gets into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front. When the lead goose gets tired, it rotates back in the wing and another goose flies pilot. The geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed. Finally, when a goose gets sick or is wounded by gun shots and falls out, two geese fall out of formation and follow it down and help protect it. They stay with the goose until it is either able to fly or until it is dead, and then they launch out on their own or with another formation to catch up with the group. Canada geese are known to mate for life. This family is seen out for a morning swim to feed. This print image size is 11 X 16 � and is an edition of 395.









Walking The Edge - Polar Bear

Walking The Edge - Polar Bear is a painting done with the viewer in mind. The use of an abstract background adds to the flavor of the painting and draws the viewer to come to their own conclusion of the actual setting. Methods used for this were less precise and added to the overall composition. The arctic is a harsh environment to say the least. Very few animals are suited to this. The polar bear is pure hunter and probably the most powerful mammal on the earth. With one swoop of it's paw, they can lift a full grown seal right out of a hole in the ice. They have been seen swimming in the arctic waters as far as 300 miles from the nearest iceberg. The image size of this print is 14 � X 26 � inches and is an edition of 395.
